A new open source and shared source project site via MS for .NET platform is out in case you haven't heared.

This is great and the workflow is a lot better than gotdotnet workspace. These days, I tend to look into open source projects more and more, there are just a lot to be learned from what other people have done.

Don't reinvent the wheel I say. Yes, it's quite often that you business needs might be a little different, but with a strong base and an active community around, you can modify the source quite easily.
